    PRESS NOTE

    The eCommittee, Supreme Court of India in collaboration with the Department of Justice, Government of India to organise a two – day National Conference on Judicial Process Re-Engineering and Digital Transformation on April 11 and 12, 2026

    The eCommittee, Supreme Court of India in collaboration with the Department of Justice, Government of India is organising a two – day National Conference on “Judicial Process Re-Engineering & Digital Transformation” Empowering the Justice System by Reviewing the Past, Re-engineering the Present, Redefining the Future on April 11 and 12, 2026 at the Multipurpose Hall, C Block, Additional Buildings Complex, Supreme Court of India, New Delhi.

    The Conference is being convened in the backdrop of the eCourts Mission Mode Project, a pan-India initiative launched under the National Policy and Action Plan for Implementation of Information and Communication Technology in the Indian Judiciary (2005) to transform the Indian judicial system through Information and Communication Technology. The project aims to deliver efficient, time-bound, and citizen-centric services while enhancing transparency and productivity within the justice delivery system.

    Hon’ble the Chief Justice of India, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Surya Kant will deliver the inaugural address at the Conference. Hon’ble Mr. Justice Vikram Nath, Judge, Supreme Court of India and Chairman of the eCommittee, Supreme Court of India; Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal, Hon’ble Minister of State (Independent Charge), Ministry of Law and Justice, Government of India and Shri Jitin Prasada, Hon’ble Minister of State for Electronics & Information Technology and Commerce & Industry, Government of India will also be addressing the inaugural session.

    The Conference will mark the launch of several key digital initiatives under the eCourts Project Phase III. These include the Biennial Report on Phase III of the eCourts Project; the eCourts Single Sign-On (SSO) Service Portal; Electronic Delivery of Summons through Email; eCourts & ePrison Integration; and the eCourts Services Mobile App Version 4.0.

    The Conference aims to deliberate on transformative strategies for optimising judicial processes through digital innovation and e-governance. It seeks to democratise the legal system by broadening access to justice through inclusion and equity while boosting judicial productivity to deliver transparent and efficient services. The Conference will bring together key stakeholders such as the Hon’ble Judges of the Supreme Court of India, Hon’ble Chief Justices and Judges of respective High Courts, Central Project Coordinators (CPCs) and members of IT Committees of respective High Courts, Secretary and his team from the Department of Justice, Secretary and his team from the Ministry of Home Affairs, representatives from National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), representatives from National Informatics Centre (NIC) and other stakeholders to engage in focused deliberations on building a future-ready justice delivery system.

    The National Conference reflects the continued commitment of the eCommittee and the judiciary as a whole towards leveraging technology for enhancing efficiency, transparency, and accessibility in the administration of justice, in line with the evolving needs of society.
