    • Born on 18 September 1964 to Smt. Sarla and Shri Prem Kishan Palli, Justice Arun Palli hails from a family of lawyers. His great-grandfather, Late Shri Lachchman Dass Palli, and grandfather, Late Shri Lajpat Rai Palli, were members of the District Bar, Patiala. His father, Justice Prem Kishan Palli, was a Senior Advocate who later retired as a Judge of the Himachal Pradesh High Court.
    • He graduated in Commerce and obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree from Panjab University, Chandigarh, in 1988, following which he commenced legal practice at the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
    • During his career at the Bar, he practised across a wide spectrum of legal disciplines, including civil, criminal, constitutional, revenue, industrial and labour laws.
    • He was appointed as Additional Advocate General for the State of Punjab on 1 September 2004 and served till March 2007. He was designated as a Senior Advocate by the Punjab and Haryana High Court on 26 April 2007.
    • He was appointed as Amicus Curiae in several matters before the High Court. And also appeared before the Supreme Court of India, the Delhi High Court, and the Himachal Pradesh High Court, where he argued several important matters.
    • He was elevated as a Judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court on 28 December 2013. He was nominated as a Member of the Governing Body of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) on 31 October 2023 for a tenure of two years.
    • He was appointed as the Chief Justice of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh on 12 April 2025 and assumed office upon taking oath on 16 April 2025.
    • On 1st June 2026, he was elevated as a Judge of the Supreme Court of India and took the oath of office on 2nd June 2026.
