Justice Joymalya Bagchi

Born in Kolkata on 03^rd October, 1966. Did LL.B. from Calcutta University. Enrolled as an advocate in 1991. Practised law at the Calcutta High Court, other High Courts and the Supreme Court of India specializing in criminal and constitutional law.

Appointed as a permanent Judge of the Calcutta High Court in 2011. Transferred to Andhra Pradesh High Court on 04^th January, 2021 and repatriated to the Calcutta High Court on 08^th November, 2021.

Elevated as a Judge, Supreme Court of India on 17^th March, 2025. Due to retire on 02^nd October, 2031.
