- Married to Mr. S. Padmanabhan, one son.

Studied at Government Higher Secondary School for Girls, Erode, Tamil Nadu.

Graduated from Coimbatore Law College, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, as part of the first batch of five years law course (1983-1988) and obtained the degree of Bachelor of Laws.

Enrolled as an Advocate on the roll of the Bar Council, Tamil Nadu, on 11th November, 1988 and transferred to the roll of Bar Council of Delhi.

Attended the chambers of Sh. M. Panchapakesan, a leading Civil Lawyer at Coimbatore, as an intern and as an Advocate after enrolment till 1992.

Later joined the Chambers of Ms. Indu Malhotra (then an Advocate-on-Record in Supreme Court of India and former Judge of the Supreme Court of India) in May, 1992.

Assisted Ms. Indu Malhotra in important cases before the Supreme Court, Delhi High Court and various Tribunals in Delhi.

Later joined the chambers of Sh. C.S. Vaidyanathan, Senior Advocate and former Additional Solicitor General of India and assisted him in several cases before the Supreme Court and other forums.

Became an Advocate-on-Record of Supreme Court of India in April, 1996.

Was a Panel Lawyer in Supreme Court Legal Services Committee and was an Honorary Editor for the Supreme Court Reports.

Got trained as a Mediator by participating in the training programme conducted by the Supreme Court.

Designated as a Senior Advocate by the full Court of the Supreme Court on 23rd April, 2015.

During the course of practice, appeared before the Supreme Court and several High Courts across the country as a Senior Advocate and appeared in wide range of matters on various subjects and also appeared before the Constitution Bench of the Supreme Court.

Appointed as Amicus Curiae in many matters before the Supreme Court.

Has been an elected as well as a nominated member of the Gender Sensitization and Internal Complaints Committee (GSICC) of the Supreme Court.

Has been a member of the Supreme Court Middle Income Group Legal Aid Committee.

Member of the Supreme Court Legal Services Committee.

In the year 2018, assisted the Commission of Enquiry (headed by a sitting Judge) Justice U.U. Lalit, as he then was, in the matter of removal of a member of the Railway Claims Tribunal, as a counsel for the Commission.

Has been a special counsel and the senior counsel for the Government of India in varied matters since 1997.

Delivered several lectures in law colleges and other forums.

Conducted several mediations including Commercial Mediation through the Mediation Centre as well as in other cases as appointed by the Supreme Court.
