Enrolled as an Advocate of the Madras High court on July 13, 1953. Practised civil and criminal work (both appellate and original) at the Madras High Court. Additional Government Pleader, Madras from September 6, 1962 and State Public Prosecutor, Madras from July 11, 1969. Appointed permanent Judge of the Madras High Court from January 31, 1971. Transferred from madras High Court and appointed Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court on November 12, 1987. Appointed Judge of the Supreme Court on October 6. 1989. Retired on 14.2.1994.
